Best List of Joomla Day Speakers Ever?

People in the U.K. are lucky. One of the best line-ups of Joomla speakers ever is going to be at Joomla Day U.K. in 2 weeks: The Speakers All events have their own flavor. The CMS Expos are very heavily weighted towards commercial developers. The Las Vegas Joomla Day offers both and is Joomla’s first foray for a long time into the U.S. South West. The U.K. event is full of Joomla.org representatives. In alphabetical order, you’ll find many if not most of the core team and other project leads:

Top Ten Joomla SEO Improvements

Last week I did a presentation for the Joomla Users Group in New York, and did a David Letterman-style top ten list twice. The first list was “Top Ten Thing to Explain to Joomla Learners” and here’s the second … ten way to improve your Joomla site’s SEO:

The Power of Twitter and User Feedback

Wow, I’ve finally realised how much Twitter is taking over. This morning’s post on the “Top Ten Things To Explain To Joomla Learners” created a lot of comments and feedback, but it was all on Twitter. Actually leaving a comment on the post seems suddenly to be out-of-date. With this trend, it can’t be long before Tweetbacks start appearing on Joomla as well as WordPress.

Last night I did a presentation for the Joomla Users Group in New York, talking about Joomla SEO and teaching Joomla. As I’d never done a Skype presentation before I wanted to have a structure ready. Being a Big Apple talk, I decided to rip off David Letterman and do a top ten list:

LakeLanier.com Relaunches With Joomla

This is probably the most satisfying post I’ve written in the three years of this blog … this weekend we relaunched LakeLanier.com using Joomla. About LakeLanier.com The site has been a labor of love. We live on the lake and I can see the water out the window while typing this post. The launch also marks the end of a long process. The site had only one previous owner and he’d run it for around 15 years, having registered the name back in the mid-1990s. It took around 18 months to go through the sale process and then another several…

Review of Jomsocial

This is a sponsored review of the Jomsocial extension. For details of having your extension reviewed, please contact us. Note that a sponsored review doesn’t mean I’ll like the product, just that I’ll take the time to review it thoroughly. We use it here on alledia.com because three years ago it was really the only option for expanded user profiles and networking. Two months ago Azrul, the developer of Jomcomment…
