Joomla Experts

New Recommended Providers Page

Joomla ExpertsHere at Alledia, we specialize in design and SEO work for Joomla and are available for custom work in those areas.

However, we often get requests from people who are searching for experts, particularly when it comes to PHP / MySQL coding and server / security work. To make referrals easier, we’ve added a "Recommended Providers" page.

The list is currently small, but it will grow with time and these are people we’ve worked with before whose high-quality work we can vouch for.

Important Changes to Our Affiliate Program

Hi All . We’ve some important news for people using the Alledia affiliate program.

There are Three Important Changes Involved in this Move

  1. All affiliate URLs have had to change. This is because iDevAffiliate’s Search Engine Friendly URLs don’t work with the new integration. We’ve redirected all active affiliates to their new URLs. That means that if you’ve sent us more than two or three visitors over the last few months, we’ve created a 301 redirect from your old affiliate URL to the new one. However, I’d still recommend that you login and use the updated version.
  2. The affiliate program has a new address: http://www.alledia.com/affiliates/. Your stats won’t appear inside Community Builder any longer.
  3. You no longer have to join the SEO Club to become an affiliate. Simply visit: http://www.alledia.com/affiliates/ and sign up.

Thanks for your patience and I apologize for the trouble caused by this changeover. Unfortunately it was essential to ensure we weren’t stuck with a product that won’t be developed any longer.

Any questions at all, please feel free to post in the comments or contact us.

Happy Holidays and a Great 2008 to All!

Xmas DecorationMany, many thanks for all your support, help, comments, emails and friendship during 2007.

I wanted to give you all a quick heads up about Alledia.com over the holidays …

As a ex-pat living in the United States, I’m returning to England for Christmas and will be there from December 24th until January 7th.

I’ll be traveling with my laptop and will be online every day but it won’t quite be the same as working full-time:

.

  • If you’re an SEO Club member, you’ll still be able to get Site Reviews and answers to all your SEO questions within 24 hours … just not the 1 or 2 hours which is possible currently.
  • If you’re a blog reader, I have one or two articles stored up but posting over the holiday will be light compared to our normal 5-times-a-week schedule
  • If you’re in Hampshire and North Yorkshire over the next couple of weeksdrop me a line and I’d love to meet up with some Joomla people.
  • If you’re reading this … thanks again for your support in 2007 and have a great holiday season!

Special Countdown and a Rereleased Module

Next Monday at midday U.S. Eastern Time we’re going to unveil new and exciting changes to the Joomla SEO eBook

Also, because of the new updates, we’re moving to a subscription model. If you buy the SEO eBook before midday on Monday, you’ll have free lifetime access. Wait until after that time, and you’ll need a subscription.

Current subscribers to the book already know what it is. If you picked up the book, well …. you’ll have to wait to find out.

Countdown Module

Finally, did you notice the module we’re using to show the countdown? It’s an old module from the Mambo days that still works fine in Joomla. I couldn’t find it available anywhere so it’s added to our downloads section. Originally it was developed by Joomgets.com, who are no longer active.

New List of Joomla SEO Extensions

Today I’ve added a complete list of the SEO Tools to Alledia.com. I believe its the only place online where all of these are gathered together in one easy-to-read list.

These are all extensions that I feel can safely be recommended for use with Joomla. Each one helps improve search engine optimization on your Joomla site in at least one key way. Some, such as JPromoter and JoomSEO are included in several categories. Each category is listed alphabetically.

Wow – Server Move Finally Completed

Hi All

Apologies for skipping the regular post today – we’ve been busy moving all our company and clients sites to a dedicated server.

Some of our clients run sports sites and are about to get hit hard by traffic from March Madness (something I’m still learning to understand and love as a Brit) and others are also doing really well, growing steadily on a month-to-month basis. It was time to upgrade our hosting capacity.

Thanks to the following people whose speedy help made the move much easier:

We’ll be back tomorrow with normal service, after a good night’s sleep 🙂

Changes to Alledia Blog Comments and Subscriptions

Hi All

Thanks indeed to all of you for reading and providing so much positive feedback during our first six weeks of daily blogging. There are two changes we’ve implemented today that its good to be aware of:

  • You now need to register in order to post comments. The upside is that theres no more moderation for member comments and you get your own profile page just like this one: http://www.alledia.com/members/steve/
  • There are new ways to subscribe in the right hand column. You can now subscribe to our daily blog via Email (Feedblitz), RSS (Feedburner), and if you click on the RSS icon you can also add this blog to sites such as Google and Bloglines.

Thanks again for visiting. We welcome any feedback and hope we’re adding something more than just noise to the Joomla world.
