Around 5 weeks ago, we annouced Joomla training classes in Atlanta.
The coincidence was too great to ignore … this must be the weekend for lovable losers. My hometown football / soccer team of Portsmouth have the chance to win their first competition for 57 years. I’m also going to be in Chicago for the JoomlaExpo.
If you’re not American or a baseball fan, the Chicago Cubs are famous for being biggest losers in U.S. sports history. This is their 100th year without winning the World Series. Close behind were the Chicago White Sox who recently ended their drought after a mere 88 years.
Portsmouth haven’t made it a century of losing yet but if your grandfather was in elementary school last time your favorite team won something … you probably support a loser.
We’re delighted to announce that our first Joomla training class will be on Saturday June 21st in Alpharetta, Georgia.
The training will be in Alpharetta, just a few miles north of Atlanta from 9 am to 4 pm. We’ve chosen Roam as the location as it offers high-tech, comfortable meeting rooms equipped with wireless internet access, whiteboards, projectors.
Because this is the first class we aim to make it extra special. We’re limiting registration to 10 students and are providing a wide-range of extra gifts.

We’re delighted to announce that we’re going to be holding Joomla training sessions in Atlanta, Georgia starting on Saturday June 21st, 2008.
The classes are aimed at people who want to manage and build successful Joomla sites. We’ll be giving practical but not highly-technical tuition. Each session will run for a full day.

Those of you who hate having their picture taken (90% of you? 95%?) will know how I felt. Several people have been asking for photos of me ready for upcoming events. I tried to put if off for as long as possible but today I needed to get it done.
I’ll be at the upcoming Joomla events in Chicago and Vancouver, so if you want to say hello, you know what I look like.
As the camera was out, I thought it might be a good idea to introduce to my blogging partner, Ninja. This little guy is rarely far away from the keyboard when I’m working. Especially now spring is here, he loves to come and sun himself in the window overlooking my desk.
This blog has been live for about 18 months now and one of our users just hit a milestone … David from GoodWebPractices.com has 100 comments to articles here. He’s been a source of wonderful advice both on the blog and in the forums and its great to have him around.
David is also a blogger. There aren’t many people in the Joomla world who provide regular, high-quality posts. I can think of Barrie, Amy, Anthony and now its possible to include David as well. Make you subscribe to his RSS feed – its full of worthwhile Joomla tips and tricks.

Update: We now have classes all across North America. Click here for full details on our new Joomla Training site.Its been a long time coming, but I am very excited to be able to announce our first Joomla training event in the US. Its going to be the day after the Joomla EXPO 2008 in Chicago.
The EXPO is on Friday 16th of May, and the training is on Saturday the 17th. The classrooms are right next to the hotel where the EXPO is being held.
I’ll be there in person to give the training session and you’ll be able to follow up with me in the weeks after the event … all SEO training attendees get a free Site Review membership. We also have some great trainers for the other sessions, recognized leaders in education as well as Joomla. Book your spot soon as the places are very limited.
Earlier this week we launched a new frontpage for Alledia.com. We used iJoomla.com’s News Portal and it really is a pretty slick application.
The main goal of the redesign was simply to place the freshest content right on the homepage.
