Can we expect a major announcement from Joomla shortly?
Early today there have been a lot of rumblings and changes in the Joomla 1.5 section over at Joomlacode.org. Add this to the codefreeze announced a week ago and it looks as if big news really could be coming soon for Joomla 1.5 …

My personal experience is that I can set up a WordPress site tomorrow and have 100% of the posts picked up. However Joomla sites have been much more hit-and-miss.
Late last year, I blogged about a popular Joomla component that contained hidden advertising links.
Since then more people have contacted us about other extensions that employ the same dirty trick.

Finally it looks like we may have an answer to the question I posed last year: can Joomla or Drupal produce a RedHat?
Drupal’s founder Dries Buytaert has launched a new company called Acquia that has picked up $7 million in venture capital funding. (Apparently the new name is meant to refer to “aqua” and Drupal’s original meaning of “drop of water”).

I’ve not been able to find the reason yet, but search engines been indexing a lot of search results on Joomla sites. It seems to be an issue with the component itself, rather than any particular URL setup. I’ve been able to identify the issue with several different setups:
