Important Changes to Our Affiliate Program

Hi All . We’ve some important news for people using the Alledia affiliate program.

There are Three Important Changes Involved in this Move

  1. All affiliate URLs have had to change. This is because iDevAffiliate’s Search Engine Friendly URLs don’t work with the new integration. We’ve redirected all active affiliates to their new URLs. That means that if you’ve sent us more than two or three visitors over the last few months, we’ve created a 301 redirect from your old affiliate URL to the new one. However, I’d still recommend that you login and use the updated version.
  2. The affiliate program has a new address: http://www.alledia.com/affiliates/. Your stats won’t appear inside Community Builder any longer.
  3. You no longer have to join the SEO Club to become an affiliate. Simply visit: http://www.alledia.com/affiliates/ and sign up.

Thanks for your patience and I apologize for the trouble caused by this changeover. Unfortunately it was essential to ensure we weren’t stuck with a product that won’t be developed any longer.

Any questions at all, please feel free to post in the comments or contact us.

Open Question: Joomla and Google Alerts

Joomla and Google AlertsOver the next few weeks I thought it would be fun to throw out a few open question. We’d love to here your answers to the first questions:

What kind of success do your Joomla sites have with Google Alerts?

  • Are your blog posts always picked up for the keywords you’re targeting?
  • Do you end up in the blog or news category?
  • Do you have any particular tricks to make sure your posts are emailed to as many people as possible?

My personal experience is that I can set up a WordPress site tomorrow and have 100% of the posts picked up. However Joomla sites have been much more hit-and-miss.

Drupal Founder Earns $7 Million in VC Funding

AcquiaFinally it looks like we may have an answer to the question I posed last year: can Joomla or Drupal produce a RedHat?

Drupal’s founder Dries Buytaert has launched a new company called Acquia that has picked up $7 million in venture capital funding. (Apparently the new name is meant to refer to “aqua” and Drupal’s original meaning of “drop of water”).

Joomla Xmas

Happy Holidays and a Great 2008 to All!

Xmas DecorationMany, many thanks for all your support, help, comments, emails and friendship during 2007.

I wanted to give you all a quick heads up about Alledia.com over the holidays …

As a ex-pat living in the United States, I’m returning to England for Christmas and will be there from December 24th until January 7th.

I’ll be traveling with my laptop and will be online every day but it won’t quite be the same as working full-time:

.

  • If you’re an SEO Club member, you’ll still be able to get Site Reviews and answers to all your SEO questions within 24 hours … just not the 1 or 2 hours which is possible currently.
  • If you’re a blog reader, I have one or two articles stored up but posting over the holiday will be light compared to our normal 5-times-a-week schedule
  • If you’re in Hampshire and North Yorkshire over the next couple of weeksdrop me a line and I’d love to meet up with some Joomla people.
  • If you’re reading this … thanks again for your support in 2007 and have a great holiday season!
